2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Launch On July 23: What Could Change

2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Set To Launch On July 23 with an updated cabin, CNG changes, and cosmetic updates.

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to roll out the 2026 Brezza facelift, marking the first major update for the second generation model that was originally launched back in 2022. Test mules have been spotted on multiple occasions over the past few months, and the updated SUV is now scheduled to make its debut on July 23.

The Brezza has been one of Maruti Suzuki's strongest performers in the sub four metre SUV space, having crossed 14 lakh cumulative sales since it first went on sale. In May 2026, the Brezza held the fourth spot among bestselling sub four metre SUVs with a market share of 11.39 percent. With this facelift, the Brezza should remain competitive against rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and Toyota Taisor.

Engine and Transmission

One of the key updates could be the addition of a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. This unit is expected to be borrowed from the Fronx, where it currently produces 100 PS and 147.6 Nm of torque. In the Fronx, this engine is offered with both a 5 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic transmission, returning a fuel efficiency of 21.5 km/l with the manual and 20.01 km/l with the automatic. Since the Brezza is a heavier vehicle than the Fronx, these mileage figures could be slightly lower once the engine is fitted into the SUV.

Alongside the new turbo unit, the existing 1.5 litre K15C engine is also expected to continue. However, there are differing reports on the exact engine lineup. Some accounts suggest the current naturally aspirated K15C, which makes around 102 bhp and 137 Nm, will carry forward as is. Other reports point to the Smart Hybrid version of this same engine, rated at 103 PS and 139 Nm, continuing in the lineup. The CNG version of the 1.5 litre engine is also expected to remain on sale, with output figures in the range of 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm.

On the transmission front, there is also some difference of opinion. While the 1.0 litre turbo petrol is tipped to come with 5MT and 6AT gearbox options similar to the Fronx, there is also a possibility that the existing 5 speed manual on the 1.5 litre petrol could be replaced by a 6 speed unit. A sixth gear would help lower engine speed during highway cruising and could improve overall drivability.

CNG Tank Could Move Under The Floor

A practical change that buyers are likely to appreciate involves the placement of the CNG tank. Currently, the CNG version of the Brezza uses a tank setup that eats into usable boot space. Test mules of the facelift have been spotted with an underbody mounted CNG tank instead, a layout similar to what Maruti Suzuki has already introduced on the Victoris. If this arrangement makes it to production, the Brezza CNG should offer a much more practical boot.

No ADAS Expected

There had been some speculation around the Brezza facelift gaining an ADAS suite, but according to information from sources close to the matter, this is unlikely to happen with this update. Buyers looking for advanced driver assistance features may have to wait for a future update or look at rival models instead.

Several rivals, including the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO, already offer ADAS on higher variants. For many buyers, this may not be a deciding factor, especially if they prioritise Maruti Suzuki's service network, fuel efficiency and ownership costs. However, buyers looking for the latest safety technology could find more options elsewhere in the segment. How much that matters will ultimately depend on what individual buyers value most in a compact SUV.

Cosmetic Updates Rather Than A Full Redesign

The 2026 Brezza facelift is not expected to bring a dramatic change in design. Instead, buyers can expect mild cosmetic touch ups. Updates are likely for the lighting elements, along with revised front and rear bumpers and tail lamps. Test mule sightings have also revealed a new design for the alloy wheels. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to make small changes to the body cladding, while the overall proportions and silhouette of the SUV should remain largely unchanged.

Cabin Updates Likely To Be More Noticeable

Inside the cabin, changes are expected to be more noticeable than what's on offer outside. The current 9 inch touchscreen infotainment unit could be replaced by a larger screen, with figures ranging from 10.1 inches to 10.25 inches mentioned across different reports, similar in size to the unit seen on the Victoris. A larger display could also bring updated graphics and additional connectivity features.

The cabin could also get refreshed trim materials and new colour scheme options. Existing features such as the head up display, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, flat bottom steering wheel, wireless smartphone connectivity and the 360 degree camera unit are all expected to be retained. There is also a possibility of additional equipment being added, such as front ventilated seats, a powered driver's seat and ambient lighting.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to reveal the complete specifications and variant-wise details when the 2026 Brezza facelift makes its debut on July 23.
